Grab the digital copy of the flyer of The Meuse Cycle Route.
This new tool is a great addition to the growing collection of the resources available for EuroVelo 19 and it will make possible to travel along the road with all the practical information you might need !
The flyer is very handy! Discover a short description of the varied scenery, including cultural heritage sites and other charming attractions. The Meuse Cycle Route follows one of the most important rivers in Europe and welcomes cyclists of all levels! From the plateau of Langres via Hoek van Holland to Rotterdam, step on your bike and discover 3 countries (France, Belgium
and Netherlands) by cycling over 1,050 kilometers of marked roads.
In Belgium, for example, the landscape of the Meuse is characterized by dramatic rock faces many with castles perched on top. In Dinant, the citadel towers above the distinctive onion dome of its church. Another castle overlooks Namur, the capital of Wallonia, at the confluence of the rivers Meuse and Sambre. Further downstream, you can visit the forts of Huy and Liège, the 'Ville Ardente', with its impressive new train station designed by the famous architect Calatrava. After passing the city of Visé, you have the choice to continue on the east bank or discover Belgian Limburg along the charming west bank of the Meuse.
Going forward, this flyer is the first in a series covering other EuroVelo routes as well! And if you are looking to get your hands on a printed copy, they will be available at some of the bigger EuroVelo events in 2021 and they will be distributed at the local and regional level later in the year.
