In this section you will follow the LF 6 route until Hal and then continue along the canal until you reach Brussels. This route will take you through picturesque villages and provides you with magnificent panoramic views. Bicycle-friendly paths wind through the sloping landscapes, without challenging your fitness level too much.
Specifically this part of the LF 6 is pretty impressive. Geraardsbergen is situated in de Flemish Ardennes, the scene of action for numerous Flemish bike race classics, of which the Tour of Flanders is the most famous. Don’t worry, though: the LF 6 Flemish Cycle Route takes it a bit easier, giving you plenty of time to take in the hilly landscapes. After crossing the Dender River, you enter Pajottenland, famous for its local beers, such as Kriek and Geuze.
After that it’s onwards to and through the Sonian Forest, the green lung just South of Brussels.
